For example, there is a well-known store in Bangladesh called Aarong and majority of their products are handmade. They have a branch in London, England as well. After converting the currency and balancing the price of the products, the profit that arises from consumption in an industrial country could give Bangladesh more money and enough money to spare for a non-profit organization such as Jaago, which helps underprivileged children with their education and health.
This will not be like fair-trade because we won't be using the profits to fairly pay the manufacturers because these products don't even require difficult labor. The problem that I want to solve with this entrepreneurship idea, is that there are expensive businesses in developing countries that have great potential and are already highly successful economically but the surrounding community of their locations are suffering economically. These businesses could spread their business internationally and also create relationships between the industrial and developing countries in terms globally serving for the public good.
Very interesting idea with the ability to give back to the public. With big corporations and businesses being so money driven today, those who are less fortunate are often times overlooked. This idea has the ability to humble businesses and help many.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea but how would you set this up? I don't know if we need to dive this far into our ideas but would you set up websites so people could buy things online or are you trying to get businesses in America to carry products from Aarong (for example), or have companies like Aarong open actual stores? While I understand your idea and like it a lot, I just am confused as to how you would execute it.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a great idea. Helping out the local market of those in need will definitely make the individual country better. This idea can help society by getting the country's economic status rise and not those who are already high up there anyway. However as mentioned on top, how would you execute this idea? Using cloud computing can definitely improve your idea. Great idea!
